GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. PS5 Pro is also supported. It cannot be played on PS4. No release date has been announced for PC or other platforms.
The game follows Jason and Lucia in a single-player story.

Your edition determines the included game content; the digital or physical format determines how you buy it. Pre-order bonuses have their own eligibility conditions, so check all three when choosing.

Physical Version (Code in a Box)
The case contains a download code for the game. No game disc is included. Only Standard is sold in this format. After redeeming the code, you can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade separately.

Pre-Order & Early Purchase Bonuses
The Vintage Vice City Pack is a pre-order and early purchase bonus.
Both Standard and Ultimate qualify when the purchase meets the offer conditions.
Buy a digital edition before November 20, 2026 to receive the Vintage Vice City Pack. It includes the ’55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and Garage, outfits and hairstyles, and an exclusive weapon pattern. For physical pre-order bonuses, check the retailer’s conditions and stock availability.

Stores & Purchase Checks
- Account region: North American PlayStation codes require an account registered in the US or Canada. Check the code region before buying from a seller outside your region. Rockstar states that Xbox codes are not region-locked.
- Payment and total cost: Check the payment methods offered by your US storefront and the final total at checkout.
- Physical orders: Check the retailer’s shipping or pickup estimate and any retailer-specific offers before placing an order.
Preload & Launch
Preloading begins at local midnight on November 12, 2026; the game becomes playable on November 19. Preloading downloads the game in advance so it is ready for launch. It does not grant a week of early access.
The physical version also supports preloading once you receive and redeem its code. Shipping dates do not guarantee delivery dates. Check your retailer’s delivery or pickup estimate if you want to download before launch.
Official Merchandise

Unless stated otherwise, shipping, order changes, and refund information below applies to Rockstar Store purchases. Other retailers, PlayStation Store, and Microsoft Store have their own support channels and conditions.
What is the physical version (code in a box), and does it contain a disc?
It is a boxed product containing a download code for the game. No game disc is included. Redeem the code through PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store, then download the game over the internet. You cannot install it from a disc in the case.
You need an internet connection and an account for the appropriate platform. PlayStation codes require a compatible account region: North American codes are for US or Canadian accounts, and UK codes are for UK accounts. Other European codes sold by Rockstar Store cover the 17 European countries in the shipping list below, excluding the US, Canada, and UK.
The boxed version is Standard only. You can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade after redeeming the base-game code. We have not verified whether extras such as a printed map are included.
When will physical pre-orders ship or become available for pickup?
Rockstar’s support information lists November 12, 2026 as the start of shipping and retailer pickup availability. Check your retailer for the actual dispatch or pickup date of your order.
Rockstar Store begins shipping pre-orders on November 12. Orders placed after launch usually ship within 1–7 days, depending on the selected shipping method. This is a dispatch estimate, not a delivery estimate. Shipping options affect transit time, and an order may arrive in multiple packages.
If you receive and redeem the code before launch, you can preload from November 12. The game becomes playable on November 19.
How do I check shipping status and tracking numbers for a Rockstar Store physical order?
When a package ships, you receive an email containing a tracking link. Pre-order shipments begin on November 12, so tracking may not be available immediately after ordering.
Split shipments may have a different tracking number for each package. Compare each shipping email with your order rather than assuming the first package contains everything. Transit time depends on the shipping option chosen at checkout. If you bought from another retailer, use that retailer’s order history or shipping notifications.
How do I cancel a Rockstar Store pre-order, and what information do I need?
Use the Xsolla pre-order cancellation form. Xsolla handles order processing for Rockstar Store. You need the order number and the email address used for the purchase, so have your order receipt ready.
For unresolved questions, contact Rockstar Support. Orders placed with PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, or another retailer must be handled through that seller, rather than this form.
What does the Ultimate Edition Upgrade include, and when and how do I get its bonuses?
It adds vehicles, weapons, cosmetics, shops, and activities: the ’95 Grotti Cheetah; Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers; Personalized Weapon Variants; Vice City Styles; Jason’s Safehouse Vehicles; Ganado Retro Build; Rideout Customs Mod Shop; Sara’s Unisex Salon; Shitzu Squalo; Stock 305 Clothing Store; the ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy and Garage; Electric Fang Tattoo Parlor; One-Eyed Willie’s Mod Shop; Goodtime Gear; PTT Youngin$ Compound; and Classic Car Collection.
The bonuses are woven into Jason and Lucia’s story, with new items becoming available as you progress through chapters. Not every bonus is available at the start of the game.
Standard owners can buy the upgrade through PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store. Physical owners must redeem their base-game code first. See the edition comparison for more on each bonus.
Which countries does Rockstar Store ship physical orders to, and how are shipping fees and duties handled?
The listed shipping destinations are the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
Shipping charges appear at checkout, and transit time varies with the selected option. Deliveries outside the US and UK may incur local customs duties or other taxes. Check the official shipping conditions before ordering.
When and where can I redeem the free month of GTA+ included with a digital purchase?
Buy the digital Standard or Ultimate Edition through PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store before November 20, 2026 to qualify. You can redeem the offer immediately after purchase, without waiting for GTA 6 to launch.
PlayStation 5
- Sign in to PlayStation Store with the account used to buy GTA 6.
- Open the GTA+ product page and select the membership sign-up option to redeem the offer.
- Check for the confirmation that your free month has started.
Redeem the PlayStation offer by March 31, 2027.
Xbox Series X|S
- Sign in to Microsoft Store with the account used to buy GTA 6.
- Open Offers & Credits, select the GTA+ offer, and choose Redeem.
- Check for the confirmation that your free month has started.
Redeem the Xbox offer within 180 days of purchasing GTA 6.
Existing GTA+ members can follow the same steps; their next billing date is extended by one month. The offer is limited to one redemption per platform account. Refunding GTA 6 and pre-ordering again does not grant another free month.
After the free period, membership renews monthly at the regular price. Cancel before the next charge if you do not want to continue. See the official redemption instructions.

Where can I find Rockstar Store’s refund policy, and does it apply to other sellers?
Read the Rockstar Store refund and return policy. Check the conditions for your product and order status before requesting a refund. For pre-order cancellation, use the instructions above.
PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, and other retailers apply their own refund conditions. Do not assume another seller will offer a refund simply because Rockstar Store’s policy would allow one.
Which email address receives the receipt for a Rockstar Store order?
If you were signed in when buying, the receipt is sent to the email address linked to your Rockstar Games account. For guest checkout, it goes to the address entered during checkout.
If it does not arrive, check the inbox and spam folder for the address used to buy, which may differ from your usual address. Keep the receipt so you can find the order number if you need to cancel.
