GTA 6 is set in Leonida, a fictional state inspired by Florida. Its main city, Vice City, draws on Miami. This guide covers the six regions, their real-world influences, known shops and facilities, and places to hunt, fish, and explore.
Explore the Map & Regions
Beyond Vice City, Leonida includes islands, wetlands, industrial towns, and mountain forests. Choose a region to scroll to its overview on this page.
The map below is a prediction, not the official in-game map. It illustrates an approximate regional layout; coastlines, roads, boundaries, and facility locations are unconfirmed. We plan to replace it with the actual map after release.
Map Size & Scope
Vice City is one part of the state of Leonida. GTA 6 also takes you beyond its streets to islands, wetlands, and forests.
In Game Informer’s developer interview, Aaron Garbut described GTA 6’s map as roughly twice the size of GTA 5’s. The team also emphasized rooftops, alleys, and interiors, increasing density and opportunities to interact with the world. An exact area and whether the comparison includes the surrounding ocean have not been specified.
The story will not take you to every location. Detours can offer a chance to discover local scenery and life beyond the main objectives.
The official Vice City Collection includes a double-sided poster with a map of Leonida. It is a separate merchandise set, not the game itself. See our Vice City Collection guide.
