GTA 6 Map & Locations | Leonida Regions, Shops & Things to Do

GTA 6 is set in Leonida, a fictional state inspired by Florida. Its main city, Vice City, draws on Miami. This guide covers the six regions, their real-world influences, known shops and facilities, and places to hunt, fish, and explore.

Explore the Map & Regions

Beyond Vice City, Leonida includes islands, wetlands, industrial towns, and mountain forests. Choose a region to scroll to its overview on this page.

The map below is a prediction, not the official in-game map. It illustrates an approximate regional layout; coastlines, roads, boundaries, and facility locations are unconfirmed. We plan to replace it with the actual map after release.

Map Size & Scope

Vice City is one part of the state of Leonida. GTA 6 also takes you beyond its streets to islands, wetlands, and forests.

In Game Informer’s developer interview, Aaron Garbut described GTA 6’s map as roughly twice the size of GTA 5’s. The team also emphasized rooftops, alleys, and interiors, increasing density and opportunities to interact with the world. An exact area and whether the comparison includes the surrounding ocean have not been specified.

The story will not take you to every location. Detours can offer a chance to discover local scenery and life beyond the main objectives.

The official Vice City Collection includes a double-sided poster with a map of Leonida. It is a separate merchandise set, not the game itself. See our Vice City Collection guide.

Region Highlights & Real-World Inspirations

These are the six regions introduced by Rockstar, including their scenery, named locations, and exploration opportunities. Real places provide inspiration, but geography, distances, and facility layouts are rearranged for the game. More precise locations and access requirements will be added as they become known.

Mount Kalaga National Park

Mount Kalaga covers mountains and forests along Leonida’s northern border. It offers a wilderness setting away from the city, but the woods also shelter people avoiding government attention and paranoid extremists.

Possible real-world inspiration
Providence Canyon in Georgia and the wider American Southeast. Red cliffs and gullies resemble the park’s scenery, making the canyon a plausible influence. The region has not been confirmed as a recreation of one specific park.
Things to do
Hunting, fishing, and off-trail hiking—exploring beyond established paths.
What to explore
Mountain scenery, wildlife encounters, and communities far removed from city life.

Specific hunting and fishing spots, equipment, and unlock requirements will be added as details become available.

Port Gellhorn

Once a busy vacation destination, Port Gellhorn is now marked by cheap motels, shuttered businesses, and run-down strip malls. Its weathered coastal streets contrast with Vice City’s glitz.

Possible real-world inspiration
Panama City and Panama City Beach in Florida’s Panhandle. Coastal streets, motels, and roadside shopping areas suggest influences from both communities.
Places shown
Motels, closed shopping centers, strip malls, and bus stops.
What to explore
The remnants of a vacation town alongside everyday local life. Rockstar’s introduction also features dirt bikes; race locations and available courses have not been established.

Details on motel stays and usable businesses will be added when those features are known.

Ambrosia

Ambrosia is a region of industry and old-fashioned values. The Allied Crystal sugar refinery provides much of the local employment, while a biker gang also holds considerable influence.

Possible real-world inspiration
Clewiston, on the shore of Florida’s Lake Okeechobee. The town’s sugar industry, refinery, and surrounding sugarcane fields share clear similarities with Ambrosia.
Named facilities
Allied Crystal sugar refinery.
What to explore
Industrial scenery and local biker culture, offering a different setting from the city and resort areas.

Usable facilities and job locations will be added as more information becomes available.

Grassrivers

Grassrivers is a vast wetland region filled with mangroves. Rockstar highlights its alligators, while hinting at other dangerous predators and stranger discoveries in the wilderness.

Real-world inspiration
The Everglades in southern Florida. Expansive wetlands, mangroves, and alligator-filled waterways provide the region’s distinctive setting.
Landscape and wildlife
Swamps, winding waterways, mangroves, and alligators.
What to explore
Wildlife and landscapes far removed from the city. Details of the stranger discoveries hinted at by Rockstar will be added as they emerge.

Facilities and specific starting points for fishing, hunting, or other pursuits will be listed once their locations are established.

Vice City

Vice City is a large coastal city with lively streets and culturally distinct neighborhoods. Pastel Art Deco buildings, sandy beaches, music, and nightlife create its colorful urban atmosphere.

Real-world inspiration
Miami and Miami Beach, Florida. Downtown high-rises, beachfront hotels, and pastel Art Deco architecture all inform Vice City’s streets.
Named neighborhoods and places
Ocean Beach, Little Cuba, Tisha-Wocka, and Port Vice City.
Local sights
Beachfront hotels, Little Cuba’s bakeries, the Tisha-Wocka flea market, and a port filled with cruise ships.
What to explore
The changing architecture and street life between the beach, shopping districts, and port. Whether every pictured business can be entered will be clarified as individual locations are detailed.

Leonida Keys

The Leonida Keys are tropical islands known for their bars and waterfront life. A relaxed atmosphere sits alongside dangerous waters and the world of smuggling.

Real-world inspiration
The Florida Keys, the island chain stretching south from the Florida peninsula. Long bridges connect the islands amid tropical coastal scenery.
Local sights
Island bars and waterfront scenery. Brian Heder’s smuggling boatyard and a property he owns, where Jason lives, also appear in the character introductions.
