The previously announced premiere time was 9:00 a.m. ET on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. A YouTube Premiere had also been scheduled for that time, but after a copy of the video leaked on December 4, Rockstar Games announced on X that it had released the official trailer early. Within eight hours of its release, the trailer had received approximately 47 million views.
Details Revealed in the Trailer
The title Grand Theft Auto VI was officially confirmed. The game was announced as taking place in the state of Leonida, including Vice City. At the time of the trailer’s release, the launch window was announced as 2025.
Platforms
Alongside the trailer, Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar Games’ parent company, published an official announcement confirming that the game was scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. This made a PlayStation 4 version unlikely. No PC version had been announced at that time.
